読書録 君たちはどう生きるか
この本を読んで覚えていること。
- ナポレオンの生き方
- 世界のためにいかに生きるか
- 自分にとって大切なもの
最も心に響いたのは以上の3点である。
覚えているエピソードを簡単に説明する。
- ヨーロッパ大陸を制圧する行動力・そして捕まってからも決して人に媚びるような態度を取ることなく、凛々しく気高く、その品格を捨てなかったその終末期までもかっこいいと思わせられた。時間のある時に、一時大陸を支配したナポレオン法典を読んでみたい。
- 世の中で生きていると自分を中心に物事を考えてしまうことが多い。でも人間はその歴史の大きな流れの中を生きているにすぎず、またその大きな流れの中の小さな世界の中で、周りの人に生かされている。そんな視点はせわしなく流れる日常の中で保つことは大変だけど、流されないで心に留めておきたい。またこの大きな流れの中で、この愚かで偉大な歴史に貢献できるような人生を歩んで生きたい。
- 最後。一番心に残っているシーンは友達がここ一番の危険にさらされている時に身動きできなかった主人公が、その後自責の念に押しつぶされる様子である。この時の少年の様子を想像するだけで心が押しつぶされそうな気持ちを抱くが、のちに書かれるように、自分の過ちをしかと受け止め、それに対し責任を持ち、絶望することなくまた前に向かって歩き出すことの重要性を説いている。まずは大切なものを大切にできるように、粋な人生をというのは常に気をつけて生きたいところであるが、同時に人間は過ちを犯すものである。そんな時にも絶望しないでその体験をまた次に生かせるようにしたい。
この本は要素だけ抜き出すとどこか説教くさくて、手に取りづらく感じてしまうかもしれないが、一連の考え方は物語に沿って描写されており、主人公の男の子とともに成長していくかのような体験ができる。
大人・子ども、どんな人にも読みやすく我々にかけている大切な何かを気づかせてくれる本でした。興味のある方はぜひご一読を！

When it comes to telling our feeling, we'd rather choose simple words. Here in this drama, we can learn simple and strong words. So glee is my favorite drama.

This time, the magazine features reading. And I found two interesting books. They are "高校生は中学英語を使いこなせるか？" and "だから英語は教育なんだ."
I'd like to write comments about the books later in this blog.
Also, I found an activity called Bibliobattle where we read a different book, introduce the book to each other and decide the most attractive book.
